Welder - 1st Shift - Tipton, KS
Great Plains Manufacturing is currently hiring for a 1st Shift Welder to join our growing team in Tipton, KS.
This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.
m.
to 4:30 p.
m.
, with overtime on Fridays as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Weld metal parts together, using both gas welding or brazing or any combination of arc welding processes utilizing a variety of welding equipment
Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions
Clean, repair and examine welds as needed
Conduct quality checks throughout the shift
Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
MIG welding experience and ability to pass weld test as required
High standard for quality and detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of team concepts and willingness to be a strong team player
Availability to work overtime
Ability to lift heavy parts throughout the shift
Open to Lean Manufacturing and implementation of change
