Project Manager - Margin Improvement

Project Manager: Margin Improvement Great Plains Manufacturing is currently seeking an experienced Margin Improvement Project Manager to join our team in the Salina, KS Corporate Office.
This position reports to the Vice President of Engineering and supports the organization through a variety of projects focused on standardization development, enhancing product commonality, maximizing throughput, and reducing product costs.
Typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.
m.
– 5:00 p.
m.
Occasional day travel throughout Kansas will be required.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Document cost savings and cost avoidance issues.
Influence product design engineers to design using the most cost-effective process.
Develop Engineering Design Process standards.
Establish material commonality targets for new products.
Measure new product launches against new design and margin standards Identify, develop, and execute profitability solutions to support business productivity metrics.
Build strategic relationships with diverse cross-functional teams and manufacturing experts to ensure continued alignment and success - before, during, and post project implementations.
Provide leadership and tactical coaching on Margin Improvement Methodology and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) techniques Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Accounting, or related field; 4 to 7 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; strong analytical skills Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, Windchill and other related software Experience in working within cross-functional manufacturing teams to support margin improvement activities.
Proven project management and leadership skills to drive organizational change.
