CMM Technician – Salina, KS Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking an experienced CMM Technician to test and inspect products at various stages of production process and compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products as set forth by Engineering, Marketing and Service expectations.
This position is located at the Salina facility and will work Monday-Thursday 6:00 a.
m.
to 4:30 p.
m.
, with overtime on Fridays as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Test parts or products at specified stages in production process, and test products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
Record test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
Evaluate data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
Prepare graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
Notify supervisor when sampling indicates progressive deterioration in product quality, in order that corrections can be made in machine setup or operating procedure to forestall production of unacceptable work.
Verify accuracy of production gauges against master gauges.
Compute percentages, ratios, and proportions of product-quality deviations in order to prepare reports and analyses.
Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wears prescribed safety and protective equipment.
Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and documents such as safety rules and operating/maintenance/procedure manuals.
Write correspondence.
Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and/or other.
