JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing processes by meticulously managing system setting rules, system setting structures, safety stock protocols, and exception reporting.
This position requires a deep understanding of MRP systems, process controllers, and part hierarchy optimization.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
System Setting Rules Optimization:
Ensure consistency and optimization of MRP’s and process controllers rules.
Align system setting rules with organizational goals, focusing on enhancing customer satisfaction, optimizing shop floor operations, and maintaining inventory stability.
Regularly review and update rules to adapt to changing business needs.
Safety Stock Management:
Develop and implement safety stock rules based on A/B/C and X/Y/Z part profiles.
Mitigate the risk of backorders by establishing proactive inventory management practices.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to maintain stable inventory levels while meeting production demands.
Exception Reporting Oversight:
Develop and implement comprehensive exception reporting rules to identify irregularities promptly.
Monitor and enforce adherence to system setting rules, preventing any deviations or defaults.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
Implement corrective actions to address discrepancies and ensure ongoing compliance.
Part Number Structure and Routings Optimization:
Optimize part number hierarchy to align with current production systems and business objectives.
Ensure efficient setup of outside processing to streamline systematic workflows.
Collaborate with relevant teams to enhance overall production efficiency and reduce lead times.
Other:
Attends meetings as required and/or assigned.
Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
Communicates and gives input regarding performance evaluations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven experience in systems setting, MRP management, and process optimization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
Strong understanding of data-driven decision-making processes.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Knowledge of SAP (or other ERP system)
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP preferred
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S and Six Sigma training tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization
Ability to work well under deadlines, and ability to work well with a cross-functional team to accomplish results
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred
15+ years manufacturing & MRP experience
