Fab Operator - 1st Shift - Abilene, KS
Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Mfg, is seeking a 1st Shift Fab Operator for our facility in Abilene, KS.
This position works Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 a.
m.
to 4:00 p.
m.
, with overtime on Fridays as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate laser, saw, punch press and press brake operations
Implement product structure and use AS400
Study blueprint or layout on work piece to visualize machining required and plan sequence of operations
Verify conformance of machined work piece to specifications
Ensure products meet or exceed specifications as part of our quality program
Ensure all processes are carried out with the required use of safety controls
Ensure proper communication with team members to attain all safety, quality and production requirements
Maintain clean and safe work environment
Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Understand product structure and usage of AS400
Knowledge of laser, saw, punch press and press brake operations preferred
Ability to read blueprints or layout on work piece to visualize machining required and plan sequence of operations
Strong mechanical aptitude
Must be flexible to be crossed trained in different areas of the shop as required
