is seeking a meticulous and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team.
The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with mechanical systems for construction projects.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC, Plumbing, or a related field, coupled with proven experience in estimating and project management within the construction industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Cost Estimation: Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to accurately estimate the costs associated with mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
* Material and Labor Assessment: Evaluate the quantities of materials and labor required for mechanical installations, considering factors such as project scope, specifications, and local building codes.
* Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services needed for mechanical installations.
* Cost Analysis: Conduct comprehensive cost analysis to identify potential cost-saving opportunities, value engineering options, and potential risks associated with mechanical systems.
* Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed and competitive bids for mechanical work, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements and deadlines.
* Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide support during the pre-construction phase, including attending meetings, answering queries, and providing technical expertise as needed.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentation.
Generate reports and summaries as required for internal review and client presentations.
* Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in mechanical systems and construction technology.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within the estimating process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Construction Management, or related field.
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
* Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, FastPIPE, or similar applications.
* Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
* Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all estimates and deliverables.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
* Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Familiarity with CAD software and practices a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This role primarily operates in an office environment, with occasional site visits required for project assessments and coordination.
Standard office hours apply, with the potential for overtime during peak project periods.
