Our Salina, Kansas facility is a full-service provider of large industrial turbochargers, parts, repairs, and overhaul maintenance.
*Job Overview:* The Machinist III is responsible for operating machinery to support production of many different parts, and various tooling needs while maintaining safe work practices and assisting the Manufacturing team.
Work is performed in a clean, modern, well-lit facility, featuring year-round climate control.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* The Machinist III will be responsible for the following: * Machine parts to specifications using tools such as lathes and milling machines * Read blueprints, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work.
* Perform dimensional layout on all machined parts to confirm conformity to prints and other routing instructions.
Ensure applicable documentation is complete i.

, sign off on job card, inspections, etc.
* Load and touch off tooling applicable to program.
* Identify multiple surface finishes requirements and understand how to achieve them.
* Clean, Deburr and part mark to requirements.
* Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, jaw attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
* Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
* Maintain a clean work area including (but not limited to) emptying waste containers, used oil, sweeping chips, replacing broken pallets.
* Read job cards/production routers.
Understand the product to be produced, instructions, specifications, actual machining time, quantities, etc.
* Adjust machine offsets i.
e.
, wear, geometry, cutter comp, work shift, etc.
* Observe all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety rules / requirements such as machining guards, lifting techniques, slip, trip and fall prevention, etc.
* Operate assigned machine (lathe, mill) independently with little to no guidance including applicable set ups.
* Operate multiple types of production machinery.
* Ability to use trade mathematics in conjunction with complicated drawings.
* Participation in safety programs and initiatives.
* Complete other duties as assigned.
*Required Qualifications:* * High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution * Minimum 3 years of experience in machining.
CNC chip-producing experience in production of small, medium, and large parts from bars, weldments, castings, and forgings.
* Advanced knowledge of precision measuring tools such as outside, inside, depth, and bore micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.
* Understand specifications, dimensions, and tolerancing as relating to precision machining.
* Ability to read and understand instructions, policies, procedures, and drawings/blueprints.
* Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds and physically able to meet requirements for safe production machinery operation including lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, bending, etc.
* Familiar and comfortable with the operation of various types of metal cutting machinery.
* Ability to understand and operate overhead cranes and rigging.
Fork truck and pallet jack abilities are helpful.
* Effective verbal and written communications skills.
* Basic math and computer skills.
* Adapt to constantly evolving work requirements in a team environment.
