Position Description: The Residence Life Assistant Coordinator assists the Residence Life Coordinator in the implementation, supervision, and direction of residence hall operations and programming.
This position is responsible for supervising the Residence Hall mailroom.
This position also serves as a Campus Safety Authority as required by federal law in the Clery Act.
The person hired for this position will be required to live in on-campus housing.
Position Responsibilities: 25.
00% - Maintains files on campus housing applications, contracts, correspondence, and reports relative to residence life.

00% - Responsible for data entry relative to residence life.

00% - Assist with Student Life activities.

00% - Enforces and monitors policies and procedures that affect the residence hall operation.

00% - Assist with management, monitoring, supervision of and programming for residents in resident halls during regularly scheduled hours, "on call" hours, and as back up when not scheduled as "off.
" This includes assisting with supervision of selected meal times throughout the week and with Student Life and intramural programming.

00% - Assist with the administration of conduct concerns related to residents, participate on the Student Wellness Intervention Team, as well as assist in providing focused support and/or follow up related to residential students of concern.

00% - Assist with implementation of the policies and procedures associated with Residential Life including documentation, tracking, check in/out, etc.

00% - Supervise the Residence Hall mailroom operation.

00% - Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Expectations: To be available "on call" at all scheduled on call dates and times.
Be accessible to residents, family members, and other campus staff relative to the daily needs of campus housing.
Support and assist the development and management of a positive residential living/student life experience, to include establishing ongoing rapport with residents and others with interests in student housing.
A high degree of communication competence, excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills, ability to work with diverse populations and exercise consistent independent judgment.
Demonstrate commitment to the highest ethical standards of professional practice, as well as personal and professional integrity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience - Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Education - 1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
Interpersonal Skills - Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Physical Requirements: The work requires minor physical exertion such as short periods of standing, walking over rough uneven surfaces, some recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities.
Job may require recurring lifting of lightweight objects with infrequent bending or stooping alternating with the lighter activities.
Job requires minimal agility and dexterity.
Occasional exposure to objectionable conditions or variations such as those found in variable weather conditions or light industrial settings.
Wages/Other:
The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.

Seeks applications for a Residence Life Assistant Coordinator.
This replacement, full-time 12-month position reports to the Residence Life Coordinator.
The Assistant Coordinator will be required to work regular daytime hours as well as some nights and weekends when not scheduled to be off.
This position will also have rotationally scheduled on call responsibilities to address after-hours housing needs and emergencies.
Collaboration with many other campus departments, particularly Campus Safety, is essential, as is the ability to work with a diverse population.
